VWFNDR™ launches its first product: MBL, a compact camera for everyone.

Tokyo, Japan + May 19th, 2026 + VWFNDR™, the team behind the panoramic camera concept KEIRIN, announces today the launch of MBL: a free Android camera built around real photographic capture, Bayer RAW imaging, and transparent provenance through Content Credentials.

A camera you always carry should work like a camera. Not as a computational filter, not as an AI image generator, but as a tool for intentional photography. Building such a camera, in hardware, takes time. MBL is the first step: a software foundation that embeds the same photographic principles VWFNDR™ plans to bring to hardware, made available now for everyone.

That sequencing is deliberate: great cameras need great software. By shipping MBL first, VWFNDR™ learns from real photographers using a real tool in the real world. This allows building the design and engineering knowledge that will carry into everything that follows.

MBL captures unprocessed Bayer RAW DNG alongside JPEG simultaneously, bypassing the opaque computational pipelines that define most phone photography today. Manual controls for ISO, shutter speed, focus, and exposure compensation are on a single screen. The interface is reorderable, controls are customisable, and designed to fit everyone’s shooting style.

Every photo captured with MBL carries proof that it was taken by a real camera, not generated or constructed. That proof travels inside the file itself: a tamper-evident record, built on the open Content Credentials standard from C2PA, that verifies where an image came from, how it was made, and whether it has been altered. VWFNDR™ is the fourth company in the world to achieve C2PA Level 2 conformance, and the second, after Google, to support it for DNG.

MBL launches for free May 19th, 2026 on Android. Further announcements are planned for Q4 2026.
